This is a lovely opportunity to lead a growing Financial Crime Intelligence Unit in a well-known retail challenger bank. It's a great time to join the bank as the Financial Crime function is transforming and growing, attracting investment and recognition that the function plays a pivotal role in keeping the bank and its customers safe – they are developing into a new structure, enabling optimal ways for the teams to work collaboratively
In this great role, as the Designated Nominated Officer you will shape, lead and direct the strategy for the design and oversee the implementation of Financial Crime screening and transactions monitoring strategies, understanding operational impact and alignment to regulatory expectations. You'll set and oversee the downstream teams in managing the operational processes for screening, transaction monitoring and customer due diligence reviews and design and oversee the Quality Control framework to be embedded within Financial Crime Operations. Another key part of the role is designing and owning the governance and approval framework for rules and list management. You will be responsible for developing external relationships with external stakeholders (Government, National Crime Agency and industry peers) which will inform the development of the external threat matrix
Were looking for someone who demonstrates the required technical skills as well as skills including:
Team management, development and motivation
Broad knowledge and experience in Financial Crime.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong stakeholder management skills able to build strong relationships at all levels of the bank.
Excellent people management and leadership skills, with experience of leading high performing teams.
