Our client, a global legal practice, is looking to hire a Certification Manager to help with the ongoing role out of quality standards across the UK, international and global business. This is a newly created role and will suit an enthusiastic, efficient and pro-active team-player looking for a new challenge.
Based in Edinburgh, the Certification Manager is responsible for defining, publishing and implementing the process of certification against ISO 14001, ISO 45001, ISO 50001, PAS 3001, and ISO 9001 or other quality standards. The role will also include preparing annual audit plans (internal and external audits) and budgets, maintaining management system documentation, including policies and framework requirements and facilitating management reviews and monitoring continuous improvement.
Key areas of responsibility include:
Develop a good understanding of the current internal management systems within the firm and regularly undertake gap analyses against certification requirements
Work in close collaboration with the key stakeholders of a quality, safety and health, environmental sustainability and energy management system to achieve ISO compliance and certification
Manage controlled documents and management system records in line with ISO requirements
Contribute to the materiality assessment of firms risks and opportunities as relevant to ISO certification
Manage performance monitoring and compile information for internal management review and external reporting e.g. COO quarterly dashboard, UN Global Compact report
Manage incident reporting and investigation processes, from initial notification through to corrective actions and lessons learned
Support international and global offices in achieving and maintaining compliance with ISO standards and management systems requirements through engagement, training and internal auditing
To be successful in the role, candidates need to have:
Practical experience in developing and/or implementing certifiable management systems – essential
Strong project management and organisational skills
Exceptional verbal, written and presentation skills
Enthusiastic, efficient, friendly, courteous and pro-active team player happy to be involved in any projects
Discretion, diplomacy and confidentiality maintained at all times
Ability to work within tight deadlines and under pressure
Proficiency in using Microsoft applications
Understanding of risk management and audit practices would be helpful
