The Financial Risk team is a second line of defence function and forms part of the Risk Directorate reporting to the Chief Risk officer. The function covers 2nd line oversight of Market, Liquidity, Wholesale Credit Risks, Capital Adequacy and Model risks as well as being the owners of the ICAAP, Recovery and Resolution Plan and assessing the financial risks from climate change.

In this role, you will:
• Define the Bank’s financial risk management framework in line with EWRM standards ensuring all disciplines (Market Risk, Liquidity, Wholesale Counterparty Risk, Capital Adequacy and Model risks) are agreed, well understood and embedded in business activity.
• Provide input to ALCO, the BRC and Board where appropriate.
• Owners of the Financial related risk policies and review and set appetite metrics for 1st line to operate within.
• Contribute to the design and development of the Bank’s risk universe, ensuring all major financial risks are identified and tracked on a regular basis.

Experience sought:
• Qualified or part qualified in a relevant professional qualification (CIMA/ACCA/AMCT/CFA).
• At least 5+years managing and implementing risk frameworks within financial services sector.
• Full understanding of retail banking.
• Full understanding of retail banking products and strategy.
• Experience of initiating and managing change across diverse areas and able to deliver results in periods of uncertainty.
