Internal Audit Manager – General Insurance – EDINBURGH

Our client, a challenger bank, headquartered in Edinburgh, is looking to add a high quality, experienced/senior Internal Audit manager to their team. The role will be focused primarily on their end to end general insurance business. Given a move to greater flexible working through the last year, candidates could be based anywhere in the UK, with limited travel expected. The client's main operations are in Reigate/London, Newcastle and Edinburgh.

Operating as part of a flat management structure, you would take responsibility for leading ‘end to end’ audits, working closely with colleagues in the IA team and interacting daily with senior leaders in the business. Furthermore, you would play a key role in the ongoing development of the audit plan, the team's capabilities and the continuous improvement of risk management and controls across the business.

To be successful in the role, you will have:

– Previous audit experience (IA or EA) – although a risk management or controls background could work for the right candidate.
– Professional qualification e.g. IIA/CA/ACCA.
– Strong knowledge of risks and controls in general insurance companies across areas such as: underwriting, reinsurance, claims, regulation, etc.
– Good senior stakeholder management and relationship skills.
