Strategically focused IT Risk Manager role at growing private bank in Edinburgh

We are working on a role for a new client, a fast growing private bank based in Central Edinburgh. The bank was set up by a number of ex Big 4 bankers to provide a different type of banking proposition for their customers – rooted in more traditional banking values and approaches. They have been very successful over the past 4-5 years and have exciting plans for the future.

Central to their current and future plans is technology. They are investing heavily in core banking solutions and digitisation across the organisation. With this goes an increased risk and a need for the right types of controls and other management approaches. To that end, they are looking to bring in an IT Risk Manager to take responsibility for developing and embedding an effective risk framework to cover areas around IT infrastructure, cyber, digital, resilience, change, etc.

There is real opportunity to stamp your mark on how IT risk is managed in the business, as well as having the opportunity to work closely with the leaders of the business on a day to day basis. This is a rare opportunity to get in at the ground floor and to develop a more strategic and pragmatic approach to the way you operate.

Someone with a strong IT risk, controls or assurance background in Financial Services would be the ideal fit – that could be a more experienced individual looking for a different challenge or someone earlier in their career looking to broaden and deepen their experience.

It won't be for everyone. However, if you're motivated to be in a highly visible, fast moving, hands-on, broadly focused role then this may be for you.

If you’d like to find out more and have the right type of experience, please get in touch.
