Opportunity to leverage your knowledge of Model Risk in a different way or to develop your technical knowledge in a key area for FS firms.
Our client is growing its second-line Risk team in Scotland, across a wide range of areas. We have just started working on a key role in the Risk Conformance Team with a specific focus on Model Risk.
As a Model Risk Conformance Manager (AVP level), you will be conducting a programme of independent reviews ensuring areas of the business identified by an annual risk profiling exercise are adhering to the Enterprise Risk Management Framework (ERMF) through a series of Policies and Standards. It is worth noting that the assessment is largely done through discussion and process walkthroughs, rather than detailed controls testing there is a separate team that carries out that work. In addition to the planned work, specific themed or deep dive reviews can be requested by senior leaders in the Risk function across the bank.
You would be joining a small, experienced team in Glasgow. You could expect to be in the office a couple of days per week, the remainder working from home.
To be successful in the role our client is looking for three broad skillsets:
Technical skills ideally candidates need to have a good knowledge of Model Risk concepts, terminology and process/controls, but there is significant scope for development in the role and therefore someone with wider quantitative skills and/or excellent assurance/audit experience would also work.
Analytical skills and mind-set experience of assessing and analysing risks, processes, operations and controls is essential.
Stakeholder management a critical part of this role is dealing with senior stakeholders – VP, Director and MD level.
This role may be an interesting opportunity to deploy your technical knowledge and experience in a different way or to develop you knowledge of a hugely important area in Financial Services Model Risk.
