Our client, a UK Challenger Bank, is looking to bring someone in to join the Internal Audit leadership group as Senior Audit Manager – Professional Practices.
Working directly with the Audit Director, one of the most experienced and respected IA leaders in the market, you would have day to day responsibility for creating the infrastructure and plans to run and develop the function, including areas such as: the annual/quarterly planning process, methodology development, all reporting, training and QA. You will not be leading audits.
This is a strategically important role, with the individual having the opportunity to build relationships across the entire ExCo, seeing all Board/ExCo papers, acting as the eyes and ears for the team into everything that is going on in the Bank. The Audit Director would take an active role in the personal development of the individual. This is a truly unique development opportunity for the right person.
The role will be based in their Edinburgh office and candidates would eventually need to spend up to 3 days per week in the office.
To be successful in this role, our client believes candidates must:
Have experience of Internal Audit in Financial Services.
Have significant experience in Audit Methodology, Audit Planning, Board/Executive level reporting that could be in a similar role but it could also be through an audit delivery management role.
Be skilled at influencing across the Audit team and a wide range of other stakeholders.
Have first class communications and stakeholder management skills and experience.
Be commercially astute with an ability to apply risk and control in the broadest business context.
