Our client, a Big 4 advisory and consulting firm, is growing its data engineering/architecture advisory team in the UK, in response to unprecedented demand from commercial and retail banking clients. They are looking to bring in a Senior Consultant and a Manager to the team. You will focus on supporting Retail and Commercial Banking clients with evolving data problems, helping them to achieve their most important business goals through the better distribution, management and exploitation of their data, delivering as part of a team of resources on client engagements as well as supporting the sales process and developing your expertise in your industry. Manager level candidates will lead engagement teams and be the day to day contact for client stakeholders.

The role could be based anywhere in the UK but London or Edinburgh would be preferred locations.

The role will involve tasks such as:
• Developing data strategy and designing next-generation data pipelines and platforms.
• Helping to embed new target operating models for data architecture and engineering teams in our clients' organisations across a host of functions including data service development, cloud data migration and platform maintenance.
• Developing batch and stream data pipelines, data lakes and data warehouses, data quality enforcement and data control plane automation.
• Supporting the development of reusable assets from ongoing engagements, from frameworks to utilities, and connecting with global engineering teams to harness broader capabilities and knowledge.
• Supporting the development of client bids and presentations of proposals.
• Supporting the development of the practice, development of our people and our industry thought leadership.
• Helping shape and grow the business, particularly in data strategy, governance, technology and regulation.

We’re looking for:
• Hands-on experience in the data engineering space, preferably around event-driven architectures, data pipeline development and implementing data warehouses/lakes within the financial sector.
• The ability to work on your own initiative and in many different and challenging environments.
• Strong planning, organisation and people management skills.
• Strong communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, including being able to liaise with both technical and business contacts at clients.
• Demonstrate the ability to constructively evaluate and work in a collaborative environment.
• The ability to identify client needs by supplementing the standard assessment techniques and tools with innovative approaches.
• Project experience across a range of data engagements in areas such as Data Architecture, Data Engineering, Data Integration, Data Quality, and Data Migration.
• Understanding and application of Cloud technologies (e.g. AWS, Google Cloud Platform, Azure).
• Experience working with DevOps pipelines
