Audit Manager – EDINBURGH

Fast growing FinTech business looking for an experienced and dynamic Audit Manager

We have just started work on a really interesting FinTech Internal Audit role, based in central Edinburgh. Our client operates in the business payments sector and is creating a real stir. The have been growing quickly, innovating in the services/products they offer, attracting investment from leading global tech companies and also getting recognised as a great place to work.

They have relatively recently set up the IA function, having hired a Head of Internal Audit in 2020 to establish the team. They are now looking to grow the team and are looking for someone with a strong audit background to work closely with the Head of IA – a very experienced leader – to deliver the plan, as well as help shape their approach, methodology, tools and team. It's a great chance to get in at the ground floor in a fast growing, vibrant and interesting organisation. A rare opportunity!

What is our client looking for?

Good audit track record – plenty of assurance/audit/controls experience
Knows what IA is all about – can articulate the difference between IA and EA/2nd line assurance
Commercial awareness – appreciation of the bigger picture and where controls/assurance fits in a commercial framework
Understands what adding value in IA is all about
Appreciates/understands the key risks associated with a start-up organisation
Comfortable operating in a fast paced/agile environment
Need to be able to take ownership and be a self-starter
Stakeholder management is critical
Someone who will bring ideas on approach, methodology, tools, etc.
Needs to be tenacious and resilient
Great team player
Whilst payments/banking is not essential – would be a great option
Some finance/technology experience would complement the experience of the Head of – not essential
